Houses

The House System which has a special relevance in our school is a structured unit within which students develop feelings of loyalty, responsibility and leadership. There are six Houses in the school, Ganga, Narmada, Tapti, Krishna, Yamuna and Cauvery. Class I onwards every student is placed in one of these Houses. Each House is headed by one boy and one girl known as House Captains. A member of the staff assisted by several other teachers acts as the House Master/Mistress. Points are awarded to the students throughout the year for extracurricular activities, games and sports. Inter House Competitions are organized in Sports, Dramatics, Debates, Quiz, Art, Music etc. which compete in a wide variety of disciplines such as dance, music, debating, quizzing, dramatics, amongst others. Besides striving for academic excellence, DPSSV aims to inculcate a sense of loyalty, team spirit and healthy competition spirit through various inter-house activities. Throughout the academic year, the students get an opportunity to participate in competitions that encourage the students to learn about teamwork, cooperation and various other life skills besides displaying their creative talents in the ever evolving and competitive world.
